Dustin Pires
Owner – Principal Designer – General Contractor
B.ARCH, Contractor’s License #B=936262, BRE #01928515
Dustin earned his Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo while working for a local contractor and true craftsman. He went on to work as an architectural designer for years in San Luis Obispo County before earning his contractor’s license in 2009. That same year, Dustin pulled his resources along with those of his founding partner, Cristina, and FORM Design + Build was born. Dustin’s work in the design and construction industry has spanned almost 20 years and, in that time, he has gained extensive experience with a broad range of project types, including high-end custom residential, multi-family residential, boutique commercial, retail, hospitality, and industrial. His wholistic approach to the craft also lead him to gain his real estate license in 2013. With a background in design, knowledge in real estate and entitlement, and a passion for construction, Dustin enjoys the craftsman’s approach to construction with design intentions respected and carried through the entire project process to completion. In addition to implementing the design-build process, Dustin enjoys his strong roots in the architectural field and continuing to work with local designers to make sure their vision, and ultimately their client’s vision, is carried out in the same way he would want his own designs approached.
When Dustin isn’t in the office or running around managing various job sites, he enjoys spending time with his wife and business partner, Cristina, and their four children and all of the excitement that having a large family brings. Dustin is involved in the local scouts troop 322 and enjoys implementing scouts into teaching his own children the values that he carries in his own life and work: respect for nature, craftmanship, integrity and living a fulfilling life of intention.
Cristina Pires
Owner – Principal Designer – CFO/Office Manager
Cristina earned her degree in Interior Design from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles and has worked in the custom kitchen and bath and finance industries on the California Central Coast for more than twenty years. After several years in the industry while flipping houses on the side, Cristina went on to co-found FORM Design + Build with her husband Dustin in 2009. Her prior work in the field and personal experiences and struggles to own property in the increasingly difficult Central Coast housing market lead Cristina to years of advocacy work for ADU’s and affordable housing on both the local and state level. Bringing well thought out and efficient designs together with a targeted execution to construction goals in order to better the lives of her clientele is Cristina’s passion. Whether working with families, industry professionals, or investors, Cristina enjoys bringing together design, finance, development, and knowledge gained in advocacy to bring her clients a better experience and an optimal build.
Outside of FORM, Cristina is found spending time with her husband, Dustin, and their four children and can be found somewhere on a basketball court, soccer field, scout campout, bike path or beach enjoying the beautiful Central Coast.
